Through a first person perspective, we understand how Lucy travels to a different supernatural place, by the simple flip of an hourglass.
Lucy inherits nothing but an old rusted hourglass from her deceased grandmother who had practically brought Lucy up. Angry and confused, she flips the hourglass and immediately finds herself in a dark place. Together with her estranged mother, they try to discover all the mysteries related to the place. It is soon realised that the place is more connected to their life in some way… Lucy is not your average teenage girl who thinks they are having a mid-life crisis She is a woman estranged to her own mother, Kassandra; being brought up by her loving yet wild grandmother, Agatha, who has a strange love for antiques. Extremely talented in her school work, yet not a single soul there knows her, She confides in her family cat, Venus. Upon the unexpected death of her grandmother, she seems to have inherited just an hourglass. However, on further inspection it turns out to send Lucy to a strange place, only up till an hour,and gets sent back to her home once the last grain of sand falls in the hourglass. Does this hourglass have a deep connection to her life? And will this bring Lucy closer to her mother, or tear them apart even more?
